If you believe your system is infected, there are a few things you can do to help prevent loss of data and other security issues:
REMEMBER ... Virus infections can sometimes download multiple applications by creating an open doorway on your system to sites that will run scripts to download even more to your computer. If you are connected to the Internet, even while trying to remove such infections, you may unwittingly load additional worms, virus, or Rogue applications on your system which can cause additional problems. Many Rogue applications will hide behind pop ups that appear to be viable applications that reside on your computer. In order to remove these types of Applications you will need to follow the instructions in the removal process as set out by various folks who have written removal instructions. Some removal instructions themselves cannot be trusted so care must be taken when following the procedures outlined in the removal steps suggested.
